Going to visits Aunties and Uncle in the big city was a special treat. In fact, at 5 years old - was the first time I was encouraged to paint. It was a paint by number, and I still have this in my treasures box. I gooped up the side of the White House as the paint was thick and I couldn’t control it, but I was very proud of this painting!!! Some day I will show it to you!! My Aunties and Uncle loved us very much and we were allowed to run on their property - this is what I remember - drinking homemade ginger beer, cutting mint to go with the lamb roast, helping in the kitchen, playing in the “scary” attic, reading my Auntie’s old nursing books and talking to my Uncle about the candy company he worked at. Nostalgia!!!
