Salvage

Salvage or flotsam is found items or things that appear that you may throw out without a thought. You may find it in the street, on the beach, in your kitchen cupboard or anything going to the garbage or recycler. I am always on the look for different shapes, colours and contrasted materials. The flotsam in this piece is an acrylic skin left in the paint tray from painting the edges of a large painting. Left overnight to dry it is basically a piece of plastic dried in a weird shape. My imagination runs wild and always finds a place in a current painting. Upcycling, recycling and passing on.
